Special Prize for Contemporary Violin Making 2023

We have the immense honor and pleasure to announce to you that the violin loaned for 2 years as part of the special Contemporary Violin Making prize in our competition, will be a violin with a one-piece back, inspired by the work of Antonio Stradivari, created by David Leonard Wiedmer from the DLT Violins workshop. Aged 33, David Leonard Wiedmer is a luthier established in Lyon and specialized in manufacturing. Awarded in numerous international violin making competitions, including the VSA (Violin Society of America, considered the most prestigious of them) in 2018: Gold medal in violin, Silver in Viola and gold in cello (in collaboration) .

Today musicians of international stature such as Pinchas Zukerman, Tedi Papavrami, Corina Belcea, Anne Gastinel, Ophélie Gaillard, Kyril Zlotnikov (Jerusalem Quartet) play on his instruments.
