1er Concours International de Violon de Mirecourt


The 2nd International Meetings of Mirecourt are organized around the 1st International Violin Competition of Mirecourt.

The competition jury is chaired by Jean-Jacques Kantorow et est composé de Michaël Frischenschlager, Marianne Piketty, Tomotada Soh and Oscar Yatco.

About twenty candidates from all over the world are at the rendezvous. The various events are successfully followed by an attentive public. Young candidates can take advantage of the master classes offered by the various members of the jury.

More than 900 listeners are gathered:

  • in Mirecourt, during the concert with solo violinist Svetlin Roussev - accompanied by the regional orchestra "Sinfonietta Bel 'arte" under the direction of Jean Marie Quenon,
And
  • at the Rotonde de Thaon Les Vosges, the final concert where the winner of the competition, David Castro-Balbi plays accompanied by the Orchester National de Lorraine under the direction of Jacques Mercier.

The staff of the City of Mirecourt, the students and teachers of the Lycée Jean Baptiste Vuillaume (national violin making school) and a team of local volunteers are mobilizing to organize the meetings. Young candidates are welcomed into Mirecurtiennes families.
